In early 2024, the border between San Lau Street and Chung Ying Street sparked our interest. It led us to connect with the residents living near this border in Sha Tau Kok during Lunar New Year. The four of us subsequently created Binchadou, a cross-media work combining video installations and live performances presented on San Lau Street right after the festive occasion.

In our project, San Lau Street is perceived as an independent landscape, not merely a dividing line between two realms. It carries both a multitude of historical traces and the daily lives of the residents on both sides, creating a unique sense of tension and absurdity in between. The character "乂" has become a totem, representing our journey of approaching this absurdity through "play" and "amusement."

This border and the related creative experiences have grown and extended ceaselessly. In the summer of 2025, we revisited the encounters and experiences unfolded in front of the border wall. We would like to honour "乂" as the symbol once more, and sincerely invite you to rediscover those playful moments of that winter with us.
